Roswell approves a new veterans cemetery to be built north of South Park Cemetery with more than 2,000 plots free for veterans and their spouses. The project aims to provide a local final resting place for service members including Vietnam veterans.
About 2,300 Utah residents were allowed to return Saturday after officials deemed the Saratoga Springs and Eagle Mountain fire no longer a direct threat. The 9 square mile blaze, started Thursday by target shooters, was 30 percent contained with full containment expected Tuesday. A separate 16 500 acre brush fire near Delta was 60 percent contained with no homes damaged.
