President Eisenhower spent 90 minutes out of bed Friday night for the longest stretch since his operation two weeks ago. A Walter Reed bulletin said his condition continues very satisfactorily and he is in good spirits after a restful night.

W J Howle about 31 of Lovington escaped unharmed when his car overturned five miles south of here yesterday. He died minutes later while being taken toward Hobbs hospital. He was with a woman identified as Jean Morrison about 24 who may live in Eastland Texas. J L Howle 28 of Abilene Texas said he was driving 120 miles per hour when the crash occurred. Morrison told police she was driving Howles car at the time.
The Los Alamos ceremonies recognized the 530 year milestone as the second chapter of Royal Arch Masons in the state. Harry E. Mc Bride of Raton attended as grand high priest for the opening of Los Alamos Chapter 20.
The federal government filed in U S District Court to seize 314 365 acres adjoining the Ft Bliss firing range in southern New Mexico forming the foot of a capital L with the existing ranges and White Sands. The action lists 149 defendants and aims to obtain the land by July 1 with 80 percent leaseholder consent.
In Belen an estimated 200000 square feet of lumber burned at the Be len Builders Supply Co. yard on Friday night. Three trucks and builder supplies were also destroyed, owner Vincent Murphy said.
An airline worker was found napping on a gasoline truck when the tank overflowed spilling about 3,000 gallons. Firefighters spent three hours washing the fuel away and assessing the loss to Donald Farmer, 18.
