In San Francisco officials report grave danger from nuclear fallout and chemical exposure amid wartime outbreaks. Japanese commercial bodies draft resolutions urging caution and evacuation measures while local authorities coordinate aid and monitoring for residents.
Delegates from Tokio Kobe Kyoto and Yokohama chambers of commerce met to draft a resolution warning of the grave danger to U S Japan trade due to Pacific coast anti Japanese sentiment. The plan calls for wiring the resolution to principal U S chambers of commerce.
New York on June 24 reports that July dividends and interest disbursements by corporations will total 182,881,849 dollars, eclipsing all prior July totals and more than eighteen million dollars above last year.
At the request of many citizens a mass meeting is set for Saturday June 29 in the court house to form committees for a grand reception to Governor Geo. Curry of New Mexico. Mayor J W Stockard urges all Roswell residents to attend.

In Louisville Kentucky on June 24 about 15 000 Masons joined the St John’s Day celebration at the White City. Proceeds from attractions go to the Widows and Orphans home and other Masonic institutions. The event marks the largest observance of its kind in Kentucky. In Marquette Michigan French societies celebrated the 32nd anniversary of the Society of St Jean Baptiste with a street parade sports games banquets speeches and a grand ball continuing the festive program.
London reports Romsey near Southampton marks its thousandth founding with a three day festival. Hundreds gather for dramatic recreations of historic events including the 994 abbey raid by King Swey and Danish marauders. American visitors expected.
The trial of former Judge W. G. Loving for the murder of Theodore Estes began in Houston Virginia. Estes was killed April 22 when Loving fired a double barreled shotgun at him unloading a fertilizer car. The incident followed a buggy ride with Elizabeth Lovin Loving’s 19 year old daughter. The defense Plea centers on emotional insanity and unwritten law.

Winona Lake Ind June 24 The Winona Missionary Conference opened today with home and foreign missions set for exhaustive consideration as prominent religious workers from many countries attend.

W C McWilliams died Sunday morning at 10 30 at his home on Military Heights from tuberculosis. He came to the city from Stewartsville Missouri a year ago. He leaves a wife and will be taken to Stewartsville with his father and brother. Friends extend sympathy to the family.
