Happy House Vacant as Roswell Training Center Closes
The Happy House recreation center at Roswell Industrial Air Center sits empty after Thiokol Chemical Corp ends the Roswell Employment Training Center phase this summer. About five previously rented buildings at the air center are vacant with no reuse plans for city offices, vocational buildings, dormitories, or Happy House. The Tabosa school, rented by Thiokol, will be repurposed by Roswell Independent School District for educational programs.

Submarine crewmen dead after 31 hours trapped in minisub
Key West rescue teams report two men in the rear chamber of the Johnson Sea Link minisub are dead. Clayton Link, 31, son of Edwin Link, and Albert Stover, 51, veteran diver and pilot, were unconscious since Monday morning as the sub was freed from a destroyer wreck 15 miles southeast of Key West.
