Roswell Hotel’s Rise in Early 1900s Roswell
A.J. Crawford bought the Roswell Hotel near the train depot in 1905 and rebuilt it into a later century showplace. The hotel featured no tobacco or gambling, family style dining, and 87 bedrooms after additions. It served as a social hub for travelers, politicians, and local groups in Roswell, with elaborate architecture and a notable lobby.
