Albuquerque police identified Officer Aaron Zwicky, a three year veteran, as the shooter who killed 42 year old Julian Calbert after he lunged at the officer when ordered to open a car trunk. A woman in the trunk was found safe and a female passenger was questioned. The case prompted ongoing investigation.
