Local teen admitted to UNM NMSU Pharmacy Program
Jakkapong Saeaung of Roswell New Mexico has met admission criteria and will join the UNM College of Pharmacy in August 2015 as part of the UNM NMSU Cooperative Pharmacy Program. He is the son of Jullapong and Rungthip Saeaung of Thailand and will be recognized at the White Coat Ceremony for the PharmD class of 2019.

Former Roswell Resident Receives Gold Blazer Award at A and M Commerce
Frank Turner, a Roswell native and New Mexico Military Institute graduate now living in Birmingham, Alabama, was honored with the Gold Blazer Award by the Alumni Association of Texas A&M University Commerce. A 1961 A&M Commerce graduate, Turner earned a BS in agriculture with economics and biology minors and remains active as chair of the Alumni Board Strategic Planning Committee. He chairs the Music from Angel Fire festival board, founded the Tucumcari Frank Turner Railroad Museum, and co-founded the Tejas/ Sig Ep Scholarship Endowment. In 2013 he and wife Rosalie began sponsoring an annual Civil Rights Tour for A&M Commerce students, reflecting their life-change philosophy. The Turners have supported St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, among other communities, after tragedy in their family.
