Globe willow yellowing due to salts drought and insects
NMSU horticulturist Curtis W. Smith says globe willows in New Mexico often yellow from high soil and water salts, late winter damage, and nutrient transport problems. Over watering can worsen iron uptake. insects and drought injuries also cause dieback. Recommendations include winter irrigation adjustments, outside drip-line watering, iron applications, and considering salt-tolerant trees in high-salt areas.
