Reports claim the Dexter Boys near Roswell will attempt one more heist at 9:30 a.m. Saturday June 17 during the Pecos Valley Roundup in Dexter. Horsemen have been seen watching the Santa Fe Railway schedule as diesel engines replace old work.

Detroit AP The Tractors for Freedom Committee plans to send a four member group of technicians to Havana to discuss trading 500 tractors for 1,200 prisoners held after the April invasion. The team would report back to the committee and could alter the tractor mix with committee approval. Members include Roy Rainer, C H Hansen, J B Liljedahl, and Duane P Greathouse.
U S military researchers are dispersing to Southeast Asia and the Middle East to study guerrilla warfare. Teams will interview native anti guerrilla fighters and consult U S advisory groups to learn weapon requirements and tailor equipment for irregular combat in jungles and hill country.
President Kennedy shows further improvement in his injured back while still on crutches. He continues swimming and gentle pool exercises at Palm Beach and delays return to Washington to extend rest. Dr. Janet Travell notes progress and the President says he had a much better day yesterday.
A Friday night tornado shattered Ravenna Kentucky injuring more than 50 people and leaving 30 or more families homeless. National Guard Red Cross and Civil Defense units aided while debris clearance and temporary storage of furnishings continued. One child Valerie Collins 9 died in nearby Belle Point as residents cope with the disaster.
Inez Sutton, a central district restaurant waitress in San Diego, wore a pedometer for an eight hour shift and found she walked 11 miles, illustrating the heavy walking demands of the job.
A Standard Oil two tank gasol line tanker overturned and exploded near downtown Toledo. At least 65 people were injured, about half of them children, with nine houses set afire and two destroyed. Ten firemen and two policemen are among the injured. the truck driver remained in serious condition.

Atty Gen Kennedy said the U S Communist Party must register with the Justice Department and disclose membership or be subject to criminal penalties. The court ruled the party foreign dominated and funded and banned active efforts to overthrow the government. Gus Hall announced noncompliance, calling it a death by action, while Kennedy pledged to take all steps to enforce the ruling.
Soviet Premier Khrushchev handed a memorandum to President Kennedy in Vienna outlining an immediate peace conference to fix Germany borders and make West Berlin a demilitarized free city. He offered an interim six month solution and warned of a separate East German treaty if no agreement with the Allies.
Sixteen year old Fred Smith representing Lovington won state in the New Mexico Road-E-O safe driving contest. Smith, sponsored by the Lovington Junior Chamber of Commerce, scored 472 points and will attend the national event in Washington, D C., on August 3. Runner up was Wayne Emerson of Roswell with 457 points.
Seven pet rats and a duck caused chaos at Alameda High School during the senior assembly. Vice Principal James Snell said rats released in the auditorium bit two students and scattered through 1,600 attendees while a duck wandered calmly among the crowd. Nine students, eight seniors, were suspended pending graduation decision by the City Board of Education.
