The highway department will start a survey within 30 days for a new U S 70 route between Roswell and High Lonesome Filling Station. The road would connect with the Roswell Vaughn highway north of its present point and cross the Pecos river further north, while still entering Roswell on North Main. Man Killed by Train in Roswell South Part
The mangled body of 35 year old J. D. Sinor, operator of Hagerman's moving picture theatre, was found on Santa Fe tracks near the cotton compress in southeast Roswell. Police say he fell between freight cars while riding a northbound train and was run over. An inquest was set for this afternoon. The body was moved to Hagerman for burial with Talmage Mortuary arranging.
