Cripple Creek miners were escorted out of the state following a violent confrontation labeled as the Tiko incident. Officials report no fatalities and promise a full inquiry into the disturbance and the underlying labor dispute.

A large crowd enjoyed the season’s first band concert last night. Bandmaster Fletcher faced a drawback as he could not secure the bass music and had to conduct the entire program without notes.
