Chaves County Road Department workers cleared a junk-ridden property at 6105 N Main St north of Roswell of mobile home frames axles wood and debris. Metal from recyclers will offset cleanup costs now estimated above 20 000 and crews plan to finalize costs this week. Louis Brady at 6107 N Main praised the rapid work.

Former Rio Arriba Sheriff loses peace officer certificate
Former Rio Arriba County Sheriff Thomas Rodella has had his peace officer certification revoked by the New Mexico Law Enforcement Academy Board after his January conviction for a road rage incident. He received a 10 year federal prison sentence and a $200,000 restitution.

The U.S. Marshals Service and partners launched the third of a five phase arrest warrant roundup for probation violators in six southeastern New Mexico counties. The operation produced 60 arrests and cleared 111 warrants, with 16 arrests around Roswell clearing 42 warrants.
