NM racing panel eyed in Sunland Ruidoso sale probe
RUIDOSO NEW MEXICO AP Chairman Drew Cloud asked that Assistant Attorney General Tom Dunnigan be assigned full time to the New Mexico Racing Commission to investigate the proposed sale of Sunland Park and Ruidoso Downs. He wrote to Attorney General David Norvell and warned of a personal petition if no reply by Monday. Cloud noted Kodiak Industries owner Al Rosa reached a tentative sale deal with All American Turf Inc led by Michael Coen, amid an SEC suit naming Coen in a Westgate asset case. The 1973 law requires Racing Commission approval for stock exchanges over ten percent in NM tracks. Cloud said Dunnigan is the most knowledgeable investigator for the job. Reggie Garcia, representing All American Turf, confirmed the tentative agreement and said they were kept informed as talks proceed.
