James D. Hearn of Roswell was elected president of the New Mexico Federation of Post Office Clerks at the annual convention at Knights of Pythias Hall. Officers include I A Ortiz first vice president and G G Armstrong president. Delegates from most New Mexico towns attended as the group advocated raises by years of service retirement options after 30 years and seniority based clerical assignments. A court of appeals for demotion cases was proposed amid talks by Carl Frisvold of San Francisco.
Pilot licenses are awarded to Louie Gene Falconi James Graham and Elbert Ditto by Albert Meyeres Civil Aeronautics Authority inspector. Licenses for planes owned by Roy Norton and Bill Mosman renew. She was skin ned bruised and suffered a slight concussion but the attending physician said no serious injury. Police chief Henry Eller said Eulagio Molina was arrested in connection with the case but no charges filed. Molina admits driving along East Albuquerque at the time but says he did not know if he hit anyone.
Abe Meyer Jr. bought 50000 pounds of wool from W C Bates for Draper and Company at a sealed bid sale in Carlsbad at 17 cents a pound. Robert Salter contracted for Sheldon and Company to buy the Robert Alley clip of 50000 pounds at 20 5/8 cents per pound.
Albuquerque's largest hotel, the new 10 story Hilton, opened today after festive events last night attended by about 500 guests. Nathan Salman of Santa Fe and son-in-law E John Greer built the hotel for the Hilton chain, with speeches by Governor John Miles and former governor Clyde Tingley.
The state realized 9723.17 today from the sale of oil and gas leases on 12 tracts in southeast New Mexico. Skelly Oil paid the top price of 4220 for a Lea county lease. Twenty seven tracts were offered.
Beverly Hills notices reveal Owen Moore, 52, husband of Mary Pickford, was found dead in his home after a period of heavy drinking. Autopsy ordered. Moore, a light of early Hollywood, faced career decline after divorcing Pickford. last film role was Mae West's She Done Him Wrong in 1933.

Rabbi David Marx, cited by Major General Van Horn Moseley as calling the flag a worthless bunting, will deliver a Flag Day address in Atlanta on Wednesday. The talks reportedly would occur in early July during a speech at the launch of a new German warship, with Berchtesgaden cited as the working site and no official confirmation.
