Roswell Folklorico Shines at Senior Olympics and Local Stages
Roswell Folklorico members, from five to eighty two, earn several Senior Olympics golds while performing in colorful Mexican and Latin American dances. Emma and Arturo Arzola credit dance as therapy after an aneurysm and stroke, with upcoming state games in Roswell and a Chiapas dance piece "Las Chiapanecas" highlighting heritage. Director Frank Herrera notes seven age groups, weekly classes at Yucca Center, and a long history of teaching folklorico to preserve culture and community.
