Biography of Marine veteran Stoll recounts pioneering enlistment
Stoll, among the first Colorado women to join the Marine Corps Women’s Reserve, recalls Pearl Harbor’s impact on her decision. She and a friend traveled 50 miles to Denver to enlist, trained in Bronx and Pittsburg, earned $21 monthly, aided troop movements, and later attended Colorado State University on the GI Bill. She later became a Roswell court reporter and remains active in veterans groups.
