Roswell man surrenders after Tuesday raid arrests

Freddie Cooper 29 surrendered to sheriff deputies around 2 pm Tuesday and was jailed in lieu of 15000 bond. He faces one count each of trafficking in heroin and cocaine and distributing marijuana. The raid netted six arrests with one suspect still sought.

Anita Bryant celebrates repeal of Dade County civil rights law

Anita Bryant danced a jig after Dade County voters rejected a four month old ordinance banning discrimination based on sexual preference. The unofficial tally showed 202,319 to 89,562 with a record 45 percent turnout. Supporters planned future battles while opponents mourned the result at the Fontainebleau.

New Mexico Expected To Pass Right To Work By 1979

Roswell Firm Seeks EIA Permit for Silver City Plant

Armstrong and Armstrong of Roswell seeks an EIA permit to build a portable asphalt plant near Silver City with capacity about 375 tons per hour and potential emissions of 15 pounds per hour of particulates and 51 pounds per hour of sulfur dioxide. Public comments due by July 1 to the Air Pollution Control Engineering Section in Santa Fe.
