Investigation Continues Into KC-135 Crash Near Walker AFB
A 3 man military civilian team expanded the probe into the KC-135 tanker crash three miles southwest of Walker Air Force Base killing five crew members. Memorial services for the five were held in the WAFB chapel, Catholic for First Lt. Anthony Sheriff and Protestant for Maj. Philip S. Mahler Maj. Kenneth Woody First Lt. Jerry A. A. Smith and T. Sgt. Lester Allsop. Base officials gave no cause and declined to comment on eyewitness accounts of an in-air explosion during approach.

Mechem Charges Illegal Election Rolls at Roswell Dinner
Ed Mechem former U S senator and former New Mexico governor accused the state Democratic Party of conspiring to deprive New Mexicans of a fair election by maintaining illegal rolls. Boys State Opens at NMMI Roswell with Delegates
