Hendricks Case Defense Outlines Malice-Free Self Defense

Attorney Beall told the jury that Nath Hendricks acted to save his brother Oliver from imminent harm after a confrontation at a dance near Roswell. The defense claims Hendricks and Oliver were friends with no prior trouble, and the fatal shot to Nathan’s perceived threat was justified to prevent serious injury. Judge Richardson Challenges Bankers to July Fourth Baseball Game

R M Parsons reports Judge Richardson entered the First National Bank this morning and challenged bankers to a July 4th match game with lawyers. Proceeds benefit the band and crown the Southwest champions. Second game June 14 features Joyce-Pruit versus Jaffa-Prager. Shriners visit town. Jaffa-Prager has been strengthened and is practicing nights.

The Herkomer automobile competition from Frankfort on the Maine to Vienna began at 5 05 a m today with two minute gaps between starts and no incidents reported. Prince Henry of Prussia drew twentieth place and Percy Pierce of Buffalo was the sole American starter with Arthur Blackburn of England leading at Würzburg after starting third.
