Chaplain Assistant Finds Calling in Service to God
Staff Sgt. Isela Gonzalez, a chaplain assistant with the 99th Air Base Wing at Nellis, reflects on her shift from security forces to spiritual support. Born in Roswell, she has deployed to Qatar and Afghanistan, earned degrees in criminal justice and sports medicine, and is pursuing a masters in divinity. Her experiences include cross training, assignments at Lakenheath and Creech, and praise for building rapport with airmen while serving at Al Udeid and the chapel community.
