Former mayor hopeful gets suspended sentence and probation
John Ferguson 32 of 604 Hickory St pleaded guilty in District Court to larceny of property valued 100 to 2500 dollars from Sun Country Realty Inc. Judge Paul Snead ordered three years probation concurrent with two years for an earlier arson sentence and restitution of 6382.06 by Aug 1 for damage to a home at 426 E. Third St.

Roswell man Reynaldo Vallejos turned himself in on a charge of aggravated assault with a firearm after a shooting last Sunday that left Tom Truex in serious condition. Truex was shot during an argument over a minor traffic incident.
