Drowning victim identified as Artesia man
The 22 year old Artesia resident Alfredo Osornio died after jumping from high bluffs into Devil's Inkwell Lake at Bottomless Lakes State Park. Sheriff Britt Snyder said the body was found about 27 feet deep after about 60 minutes underwater. He warned of the dangers of diving from height into lakes and rivers.

Youth science exhibits added to Roswell UFO Festival
The Roswell festival will host kid friendly science activities July 6 to 8 led by New Mexico Museum of Space History staff. An alien autopsies demo July 7 noon to 3 p.m. uses safe dissections to teach scientific inquiry with a NASA selfie station and a borrowed moon suit for photo opportunities at North Main Street venues.

Wonders on Wheels WOW brings art and cultural artifacts from 24 Native American tribes to the Roswell Public Library parking lot. The mobile exhibit, on loan from the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture Santa Fe, has attracted about 85 children by mid afternoon.
