Reports describe a recent artesian well brought in by W E Carper and Sons at the Walker property behind the By What Companies Now Written hotel. The six inch casing, 264 feet deep, produced a strong flow and drew curious spectators, while another new well at Pecos and 10th streets flowed 26 inches and remains uncapped.
