Roswell Budget Vote Falls Short By One Council Seat
Roswell faced a near miss on a 110 million dollar budget as a 5-2 vote fell short of the required majority of all councilors. City Manager Larry Fry warned that missing the Thursday deadline could trigger an audit finding and other consequences while the 2014-15 fiscal year begins. Councilors Henderson and Oropesa opposed the measure. others supported it though three members were absent. The plan depended on a 2.5 percent GRT rise, a rate Henderson doubted.

Stabbing Report Near College Avenue In Roswell
Police responded to a stabbing on College Avenue after a 38 year old man reported being attacked with a machete and an axe by a friend. A couple found the injured man on Lea Street and brought him home before police arrived. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
