Public audit dispute halts payment for Roswell firm

The Santa Fe school audit contract with Evertson and Associates was not approved by the Legislative Audit Commission, so C R Sebastian says the contract is invalid and the Roswell firm cannot be paid. The unsigned agreement dated December 1967 only reached the commission in June, influencing the Santa Fe superintendent’s firing.

Red Shipe Accepts High NMSU Post

Rolland W. Shipe director of ENMU Roswell vocational technical division will become director of admissions at New Mexico State University on Aug 19. He helped establish the ENMAR program and its first year outcomes. Shipe replaces George Dennard who was killed in a recent auto accident. Funeral set for A Campbell in Roswell

W Archie Campbell 63 of 22 Riverside Drive Roswell died Monday at a local hospital. He owned The Myers Co. at 106 S Main and led the firm for 46 years. Funeral Wednesday at 2 p.m. Ballard Chapel officiated by Dr. Austin H Dillon. Burial South Park. Survived by wife Lucile Pix, a son Charles W Campbell, a daughter Mrs Charles Stubblefield, two brothers. Ballard Funeral Home in charge.

Three Roswell Area Farmers Fined for Water Violations

In Fifth Judicial District Court Judge Lael Oman presiding three Roswell area farmers were fined for water use violations. A J Greenwood east of Roswell received 750 dollars and six months jail suspended on no further violation. A W Langenegger Hagerman was fined 250 dollars with a suspended %-day sentence and must repay the water. Rosendo Casarez southeast of Roswell was fined 750 dollars and 90 days jail suspended on no further violation. State Engineer's Office through Wayne K Lampert filed charges.
