Roswell hospitals hold excess beds for the patient load, an HSSD official said Monday. Ken Smith of Santa Fe, head of the construction service division, cited an optimum occupancy rate of 85 percent per patient day in a Roswell Daily Record interview.

Circulation Chief Named for Roswell Daily Record

E Francis Ed Mulligan is named circulation director of the Roswell Daily Record by publisher Robert H Beck. Mulligan, 35, came from the Arizona Daily Sun in Flagstaff where he led circulation for eight years and began his career with the New York Daily News. He served in the Marine Corps from 1957, earning sergeant, with posts in Parris Island San Francisco Japan and the South Pacific. He later led city circulation at Whittier Daily News and won California Western Circulation Managers Association awards in 1966 and 1967. Mulligan and his wife Gloria have four children Michael 14 William 2 Kelly 11 and Kerie Rene 7.
