Ford proposes energy compromise with phased price plan
President Ford presented Congress an energy package he said meets objections raised earlier. Officials forecast a six-cent rise per gallon in petroleum prices by 1978 and a three year plus nine month phase out of price controls with an $11.50 per barrel ceiling on domestically produced oil.

Diver survives shark attack off Pt Conception in 18 foot shark
