Court denies bid to stop Loughner forced medication
The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals refused to block prison officials from medicating Jared Lee Loughner with Risperidone and rejected a request for daily condition reports. Prosecutors argued medicating was necessary as his mental state deteriorated while he faces 49 charges from the Jan. 8 Tucson shootings. He remains under suicide watch and faces up to four months in a Missouri facility while doctors seek to restore competency.
