Marilyn Monroe sculpture debut draws crowds on Chicago’s Magnificent Mile
A 26 foot Forever Marilyn sculpture by Seward Johnson unveiled on Chicago’s Magnificent Mile recreates the Seven Year Itch dress pose. Crowds gathered all day as visitors photographed undergarments seen on the statue with cell phones. Critics called the sight intrusive while supporters praised the iconic moment and Monroe’s smile. The dress prop sold for 4.6 million at Debbie Reynolds auction last month.
