ENMU-R Roswell Talent Search grant funds education aid
The Talent Search program at ENMU Roswell received 304 593 dollars for the first budget period from Sept 1 2011 to Aug 31 2012 with plans to extend for five years. U S Sen Jeff Bingaman announced the grant to aid underprivileged students and increase high school persistence. The project will serve 1 000 low income first generation students in Roswell region with tutoring exam help college applications and guidance on financial aid and economic literacy. Greg Martinez TRIO director praised the continued funding and impact on southeastern New Mexico. Approximately 1 000 students were served in Chaves County in 2010.
