Swanson Defends League of Nations in Senate Speech

German Finance Minister Erzberger expects to raise ninety milliards of marks through levies on capital jewels and metals with first payments due January. Davisson Soldier Dies in World War I Service

Clarence William Davisson of Roswell died in military service after serving with Company B, 6th Engineers. Born January 22, 1884 in Galveston, he moved to New Mexico at 18 and later settled in the Pecos Valley as a real estate worker. He volunteered April 20, 1918, trained at Camp Dix, fought at St Mihiel and the Argonne, and died of empyema after influenza and pneumonia following the Armistice. Survived by wife Ethel Richards and daughter Clare Lee Davisson.

Death of Co. E Swanson after long illness in city

Co. E Swanson died this morning at St Marys hospital after a long illness. He had lived in the city seven months and recently ran a taxi business before retiring due to ill health. The body is held at the Dilley parlors awaiting instructions from his brothers in Spokane Washington. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

Funeral Services for Miss Mertie Smith Tonight

Community Work At Ft Worth Masonic Home Leader

E C King in charge of about 150 boys at the Ft Worth Masonic Home spends three weeks vacationing with his parents near Roswell. He invites all children interested in community recreation to meet at the L F D school house on Tuesday Thursday and Saturday evenings for activities. King focuses on boys but can teach girls and brings broad experience in serial settlement scouting and five years with the Masonic Home program.
