London July 12 A verdict of wilful murder was returned against Princess Marie Marguerite in the inquest into her husband Ali Kamel Fahmi Egyptan prince. He was shot to death in his hotel suite and witnesses said the Princess later admitted the shooting.
Four houses were dynamited simultaneously in Pittston Pa by unknown attackers. No injuries were reported, and owners offered motives for the blast. One damaged home belonged to Alex Campbell, an insurgent leader of United Mine Workers District No 1. A second obituary notes the death of Mrs Lizzie Cummins at 107 North Assacuri Avenue after a long illness. She leaves a son George Cummins of Tulsa Oklahoma and a daughter Mrs E H Luff of this city, plus siblings and a brother, Rev Grandie Snell. Roswell Undertaking Co handles arrangements. Roswell Lodge No 18 A F & A M announces a special communication July 23rd.
Magnus Johnson, a farmer-labor candidate, calls for government purchase of surplus wheat. He proposes emergency legislation to provide warehouses as Europe’s inability to pay leaves no market. Johnson aims to win the senate seat succeeding Knute Nelson.
Two deputy sheriffs from Caddo county along with the town marshal and two Anadarko and Duncan citizens were named in a state supervised grand jury probe into whipping parties in the district. M. W. McKenzie, assistant attorney general, announced. Private sale to follow as advertised farm equipment and livestock of the Berrendo Cattle Company will be sold. Items include piots, cultivators, discs, harrows, planters, hay machinery, cudilage cutter, saddles, harness, horses, cream separator, pulleys, Buick truck, and more. Ad appears under Berendo. Also smaller notices list a summer laundry offer and a 13th list of real estate transfers including Elmer H. Kinney to H. A. Meyer and wife for property in Hagerman Orchards.
Berlin reports French forces advanced into Westphalia and occupied Barmen, a city of about 200000, with Etherfield also seized. The move follows Britain’s policy statement as Premier Baldwin outlined. French troops evacuated later, calling the action punitive.
In Seymour Texas on July 12 the jury acquitted C. B. Berry after a 16 minute deliberation in the murder case involving Wood Barton.

The Hope rodeo returns next week starting Wednesday and runs through Friday with Thursday labeled barbecue day. Roswell hosts a special invitation as many Roswell residents attend for barbecue and socializing, renewing ties with friends in Hope.
