Roswell Scouts Enjoy Carlsbad Encampment Week
Fifty one Roswell Boy Scouts returned from the Carlsbad encampment after a week in the open. The trip began early with two trucks from the local council. Camp life featured swimming, fish fries, a Dutch supper, open air services, visitors day, and a celebratory Crawford airdome show. Escaped death when train hits his auto
C S Lusk of near Elkins narrowly escaped death when a Santa Fe freight train struck his Buick as he drove to his ranch. The car was wrecked beyond repair and Lusk clung to the cow catcher till the train halted. Dr. Bradley examined him, finding bruises but no serious injuries.
