Crash Kills Four New Mexicans in Texas Pasture

Four New Mexicans died when a single engine Cessna 210 crashed in a north Texas pasture on Sunday. The victims include Dr. James E. Sears and his wife Valina Bardwell Sears of Las Cruces and their son Kenneth, plus Louis D. Kilgore of Los Alamos. Kilgore was a safety engineer for Zia Co. The Sears are Las Crues natives and their daughter Carolyn stayed with relatives in Dallas.

Plane crash near Dallas leaves two families grieving

Two Wells Staked by Pan American in Chaves County

Pan American Petroleum of Texas staked two more wells in northeast Chaves County as branches of the Pan American No. 1 Baskett. The original well, 35 miles northeast of Roswell, drilled to 3 560 feet in San Andres limestone, produced 322 barrels daily in late June. The first offset well No 1 ABKO lies 1980 feet from the discovery well’s north line and 660 feet from Section 10 east line in township 8 south range 30 east. A wildcat No 1 Thelma Crosby was located 2.5 miles west of the discovery well, 1980 feet from both section lines in Section 17. Additional activity was anticipated as the discovery well’s oil output rose.
