Mrs. Milton S. Eisenhower, wife of the Penn State president, died yesterday at her campus residence in State College. She would have turned 50 on August 14.

A gift of appreciation was presented by Lake Arthur church officials and members.
A threatened atomic bomb production strike was dropped after CIO atomic workers at Paducah Kentucky voted 329 to 96 to return to work and back a peace plan. Oak Ridge Tennessee workers followed suit with a Friday night vote to end their walkout, AFL workers at Oak Ridge had spoken but did not join the strike. The plan calls for government review of health housing and community problems of atomic workers.
Santa Fe July 10 Democratic gubernatorial hopeful John Simms Jr urged young Democrats to view vigor and enthusiasm as a strength or weakness for the party. He outlined a seven point personal platform linking youth to party goals and urged voter registry updates and purging inactive names while stressing leadership and party ideals.
Two people died and a third is critically hurt after a flaming crash near Las Cruces on Saturday. Gilbert Garcia and his wife Pauline of Mesilla Park perished. Garcia's sister in law Alice Kurtz remained in critical condition in a Las Cruces hospital.
