Water plan aims to deliver 50 000 to 90 000 acre feet by fall
The Pecos and Rio Grande water effort targets 50 000 acre-feet by May and 90 000 by September to aid farmers. Officials note $100 million spent on rights and pumping, with 21 000 gallons per minute flowing near Brantley Reservoir. Upstream storage and a potential loan from water credits seek to extend irrigation in the lower valley while rain remains scarce. Monsoon prospects offer cautious hope for a normal season.
