Student wins settlement over school playground gopher hole
A 13 year old Santa Fe middle school student received a 15000 settlement from Santa Fe Public Schools after twisting his ankle on a gopher hole on the De Vargas Middle School football field during a game against Moriarty in 1997. The settlement was arranged through the New Mexico Public School Insurance Authority with claims adjuster Kevin Sovereign of the Carl Warren Co. handling the payout.
