County grand jury to reconvene Thursday
A Chaves County grand jury impaneled for three months in February will reconvene Thursday to hear criminal cases for another three months. A new 12 member panel was chosen May 19 to replace the previous jury which met until May 18. The jurors will meet weekly at the Chaves County Courthouse under District Judge Ken Riggs. The panel has indicted more than 50 people on various charges. public records note true bills while no bills are not public. Flag Reinstated at Roswell Senior Circle Grounds
About 50 people gathered Monday to raise a weatherproof 8 by 12 foot flag at the Center outside Senior Circle at 2801 N Main St Roswell. The flag, funded by years of garage sale proceeds, was installed with help from J and G Electric Co and will be flown continuously with a new rope and LED lighting.

Dexter Family Displaced After Monday House Fire
A Dexter family was displaced when a house on West Fourth Street at Edwin Avenue burned completely Monday night. The American Red Cross aided two adults and three children with lodging and immediate needs, with Disaster Action Team Lead John Nelms assisting the group.
