Star spangled salute honors Roswell veterans
Roswell hosts a large Fourth of July fireworks show at Cielo Grande with crowds filling streets and park areas. Star spangled events featured a parade of veterans, naturalization recognition, a Boy Scout pledge, a keynote by Col. Robert Schulz, and buglers with a gun salute and taps. Pearl Harbor survivors were honored as 80 to 100 shells lit the sky and about 300 queues exploded in the display funded by local departments and many donors.
