Las Vegas NM seeks $32 million for water upgrades

Drought in Las Vegas New Mexico has reduced Gallinas River flow and forced outdoor watering bans. Mayor Henry O Sanchez says officials must plan better use of scarce supply as $32 million funds are sought after a watershed tour for Sen. Jeff Bingaman. Pueblo water sewer grant boosts Santo Domingo Pueblo upgrade

Santo Domingo Pueblo will receive a 559 500 grant from the U S Department of Agriculture to extend a 4 7 million water and sewer system upgrade serving 550 households with remaining costs covered by state and Indian Health Service funds. The announcement was made by Senator Jeff Bingaman.
