Ford energy plan may cost families up to 345 a year

White House officials say Ford energy measures could raise costs by 95 to 345 dollars annually. Eight Northeastern governors filed suit accusing Ford of misusing a tax law to curb consumption without public or congressional input. Roswell Rockhounds Seek Permanent Yucca Center Home

About 80 members of the Roswell Chaparral Rockhounds Club pressed the City Parks and Recreation Commission for a permanent home at the Yucca Youth Center at 500 S Richardson Ave. The panel delayed a decision citing scheduling errors and urged committee study on a lapidary room while also debating impact on Memorial Center events and youth access.

Roswell Police Capture Courthouse Goat Alias Billy the Kid

Macaws Hint at 14th Century Trade Across New Mexico

Two Scarlet Macaw skeletons found at Arroyo Hondo Pueblo near Santa Fe suggest long distance exchange between northern New Mexico communities and distant Mesoamerican traders up to 1,000 miles away. The remains, dating to about 1335 and buried in a major plaza, indicate birds were transported rather than locally bred. New Mexico Senate Keeps House Pay Raise for Legislators
