Reserved seating for speech sparks complaints
New Mexico Senate leader Michael Sanchez proposed a rule change to bar reserved seating in the House Gallery during joint sessions. Color coded passes and restricted access sparked complaints as Republicans controlled the House and public attendance was limited on the opening day of the legislative session. Busier than prior years, the changes also restricted standing in the back area to improve flow.
