County advances 290 million solar project near Roswell
The Chaves County Commission approved an inducement resolution to authorize the issuance of 290 million in 30 year industrial revenue bonds for NextEra Energy Resources. The plan would finance three solar farms on about 1300 private acres near Wrangler and East Pine Lodge roads and could power Roswell and surrounding areas.

Roswell man thanks first responders who revived him
Tom Barresi died on December 3 when his heart stopped and he was found unconscious. His wife Patty performed CPR until firefighters used an AED and IV, then paramedics continued care before he recovered. She praised the responders for saving his life.
