New Mexico MVD says computer files clean for gas rationing cards

The New Mexico Motor Vehicle Department reports their files are clean enough to mail federal gas rationing coupon cards if needed. A test run found 687 511 licensed drivers age 18 or older and 46 172 under 18. Address errors may total 4 6 percent, or 27 000 40 000, due to unnotified moves.

MVD Improves After Data Processing Reforms

Two years after acknowledging up to a fifty percent error in computer files the Motor Vehicle Department began anew with in person registrations at local MVD offices. Legislative hearings revealed past clashes with the data processing department but in a November Finance Committee session director Steve Malnar praised large improvements and LFC chairman C B Trujillo commended the best operation seen in his years in the legislature.

Grants totaling 691000 fund Roswell airport terminal building vocational technical center at ENMU Roswell Campus and city park improvements.
