The Eastern New Mexico Medical Center consolidates to two campuses leaving the former St. Marys Regional Health Center building available. A Roswell task force meets at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the ENMMC South staff room to determine its future. Jeanette Miller of the Roswell Chamber of Commerce notes surveys are being offered to gather public input from health agencies churches and chambers. The chamber has received one reply and 50 surveys were sent to the Roswell Adult Center with no responses yet.
Volunteers in Chaves County seek continued approval of a quarter percent fire protection excise tax to fund new and replacement fire apparatus for seven departments. Ballots go to 3,512 voters outside city limits with a Jan 25 deadline.
