Kelso Washington January 4 authorities in charge of rescue report eighty may be the death toll from the collapse of the Kelso suspension bridge over the Cowlitz River. About seventy are accounted for and eleven are missing. Eight injured were rescued during the night and hospital cases rise. More than a hundred were on the bridge, many in automobiles, when the cable snapped and the structure toppled. River crews began rescue work immediately, many on a development project along the riverbank.
