Shirley 20 said Maiya was due January 17 and hoped for a New Year birth. She noted the birth was healthy with no complications and shared pride in her daughter’s features and resemblance.
The Chaves County Sheriff’s Office says John Doe has been identified as Charlie Michael Molina 18 of Hobbs. The victim’s body was found November 19 east of Hagerman off NM 249 after a Crime Stoppers tip following release of an artist composite. Molina’s identity was confirmed via prints tied to his juvenile record by the Office of the Medical Investigator in Albuquerque. Molina had prior arrest for receiving stolen property. A second body found November 22 along Buffalo Valley Road east of Lake Arthur was identified earlier as Mark T Walters III 48. The deaths are believed related.
