Roswell council rebuffs RMAC size change amid crime rally
In Roswell the city council rejected reducing the RMAC board from 11 to seven after opposition from RMAC president Joyce Tucker. A Rise Up Roswell rally drew about 400 at the Chaves County Courthouse amid a surge of violent crime including a triple homicide and a narcotics officer shooting. Roswell also saw a new publisher take the Daily Record, a grand jury petition initiative by Mayor Dennis Kintigh, the demolition of the old airport terminal, school board cheerleader trip denial, booster club probe, a meth ring case, and a FLETC strike end after 3 months of picketing by IUE Local 953.
