Roswell officials and NCAR marked the groundbreaking for grandstands to seat up to 10,000 spectators at the Roswell Air Center for NCAR's debut Sept 10 14. Roswell High Hosts Career Fair With 90 Exhibitors
The RHS gym was packed as local and regional businesses plus state and federal agencies set up exhibits for a career fair. About 1,100 students would visit, with counselor Amber Marrujo noting 90 exhibitors signed up and principal Rosalba Mendoza saying students would circulate through the event.

Texas child dies in measles outbreak report
The first measles related death in Texas was confirmed by the Texas Department of State Health Services. A school aged unvaccinated child hospitalized in Lubbock tested positive for measles and treated at Covenant Children’s Hospital. The outbreak began in Gaines County late January and has 124 confirmed cases across South Plains and Panhandle counties. Eighteen people have been hospitalized.
