Roswell High School students in the Spanish Club earned three first place awards at Festival Romanico hosted by Eastern New Mexico University Portales on February 9. The event was sponsored by ENMU's languages and literature department.

Man Charged With Aggravated Battery After Knife Attack
Juan Laris-Vasquez 49 was arrested at an 800 block North Washington Avenue Roswell residence and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon for stabbing a 50 year old roommate during a fight. The victim was hospitalized in stable condition. Police detained Laris-Vasquez after the attack reported at 4:45 p.m. in Roswell.

State park fees may rise for nonresidents in N M
